For Hubby, mihun sup utara.. 2 mangkuk lagi!!

Makan2 @ Office Orang

Kami dijamu ni masa outstation kat Yong Peng.

For lunch - nasi tomato, ayam berlada, dalca, jelatah & tembikai (or hubby panggil semangka)

Sebelum tu, utk morning teabreak.. ada kuih lapis, karipap & roti jala eith kari ayam..




Nampak mengancam je kuih lapis & karipap ni.. tp aku lupa nak mkn dua2 tu.. or rather aku mengelak mkn sebenarnya..

Food Hunting: Seafood at Anjung Batu, Melaka

Last wednesday aku outstationed kat Yong Peng.. bertolak dr opis dah pukul 5 ptg. For dinner kami (berempat semuanya) decide nak mkn seafood.. so since aku & hubby dulu klu nak mkn seafood mesti pi anjung batu.. aku pun ajak the team mkn kat situ. Tempat tu lebih cool, aman sikit tak mcm kat umbai tu. Dulu kat situ lagi sedap compared to Umbai or Serkam.. but this time mcm dah tak ok je... tp ada jugak yg still best.

On 13th Feb 2009.. we had our dinner here... tak tau nama kedai ni tp kat jln nak ke LHDN kelana jaya.. best jugak mkn kat sini. Gila byk kitaorang mkn..
My favourite.. fish & chips. Lagi best dr kat cowbow station & harga lagi murah ( by about 40%). Serving lagi besar, sayur lagi best, sos ada berjenis2 lagi..

Char kuey teow.. best jugak.. klu kasi kurang msg lagi best!Roti canai.. pun best jugak!

Hubby order ABC for him.. aku cilok kacang je..Tak cukup mkn kat situ siap tapau roti john.. ada sosej lagi kat dlm. Harga RM2.50, saiz 1/2 roti john biasa. Sedap.

Food Hunting : Cowboy station @ Tasik Kelana Jaya

11 Feb 2009.. after work we went for dinner at restoran tepi tasik kelana jaya. Tak sure nama apa.. tp ada cowboy2 cam tu.
Fish & chip yg tak best.. serving size kecik tak padan dgn harga. Dah le tu tartar sauce pun tak de..
Nasi goreng pun cam bodoh je.. plain sesangat.
Harap ice-lemon tea je yg ok.

SUMPAH aku tak pi dah mkn kat sini!!!
(opps.. takut aku ter'makan' sumpah pulak nanti..)

Makan2 @ MyOffice

On Thursday 12th Feb 2009, I attended the MOU's signing ceremony between 2 largest expressways operators - in Malaysia/south-east Asia (i.e the Organisation I work with) & Japan respectively. The ceremony was witnessed by the Secretary General to Minister of Works and Japan Ambassador to Malaysia (love him for being so funny.. and he speaks Malay quite fluently).
Acara mula agak lewat.. lebih-kurang 5.10 pm & habis about 5.40pm. Lepas tu ada hi-tea dr Sheraton Subang. Menu seperti di bawah..

Pilihan makanan dlm dome tray.. roti jala with kari ayam, dim sum, potato prawn etc..

Ini dlm pinggan aku.. yg tak de dlm gambar sandwich dgn kuey teow goreng ;-)

aku suka potato prawn tu.. cantik & sedap!!

Teh tarik.. lamanya aku menahan nafsu dr amik minuman manis termasuk le my favourite teh tarik.. so this time aku betul2 balas dendam!

Saturday cooks: Pan Roti, sambal sardin with telur & sambal tumis sotong

Semlam utk breakfast aku buat ni.. tak tau apa nama benda ni.. tp resepi similar to roti. Cumanya aku tak bakar dlm oven.. aku bakar atas pan..
Bahan2 biasa je.. tak sukatpun, main agak2 je..
Tepung gandum about 3 cawan + 1/2 sudu besar bread improver, yis segera about 5 gm (dibancuh dgn 1/2 cwn air suam & 1/2 sudu besar gula).. 1/4 cawan susu full cream, garam dan air secukupnya. Campur semua dan uli.. bahagi kepada 16 biji.. rehatkan 20-30 minit. Lepas tu canai kan bentuk bulat sebesar saiz roti canai.. masak atas lightly buttered pan.. sekeping amik masa dlm 3 minit utk masak.

Memang lembut roti ni.. tambah best bila berteman dgn kopi o kampung kaw!

FOOD HUNTING: PERSADA CAFE

Lunch aku hari rabu lepas.. mkn kat Persada Cafe kat opis aku. Aku lupa nama nasi goreng ni apa.. Harga klu tak silap RM8.50. Ayam goreng tu mmg mentah kat dlm, 3 org kat meja aku mkn nasi goreng semua dpt ayam mentah.. siap pi komplen & dorang goreng lain. Itupun 2 je ok.. 1 lagi still mentah. Camner le cafe ni..
Ini pulak char kuey teow persada for my friend.. dia kata tak best..

FOOD HUNTING: CHOP n STEAK, Kg Baru

Yang aku & hubby makan for dinner on 16 Feb 2009.
I had my favourite fish & chip.. tp this time tak best. Dry je ikan dia! Harga RM6.90.

Hubby had hot plate rice with black pepper beef. Yg ni memang best! Harga tak sampai RM10.

Mashed Banana sandwich

Bila lapar malam2, mula le cari idea nak makan apa..
This is one of my favourite for snacking.. or kengkadang utk breakfast.. wholemeal toast with with mash banana. Senang je buat dia.. 2 keping wholemeal bread, sebijik pisang yg dilecek (pisang emas or berangan), butter utk disapu pada roti. Sandwichkan roti yg dah disapu butter dgn pisang, then masak atas pan yg diletak butter sikit. Guna api slow je.. agak2 dah kuning flip kan roti tu.. dah masak boleh potong n makan. Kali ni aku buat 2 sets sbb hubby pun sibuk nak join jugak.

Xtually, aku dpt idea ni from Wilma yg berlakon citer sebagai Rabiah dlm Salam utk Rabiah ( betul ke title dia yek?).. dgn jamal abdillah tu! Bukan le pulak dia bagi resepi ni kat aku, tp dia citer her diet masa interview dlm magazine HAI masa dia tengah famous dulu.. kalau ikutkan dia punya version ada tambah kekacang (badam kut?) and honey. But for me, pisang dah cukup manis.. tak perlu honey lagi.

Red Velvet Cake

Red Velvet Cake (a.k.a. Waldorf Astoria Cake)
INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour*
1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)
2 oz. red food coloring (2 tablespoon)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature (i've substitutes with 1 tablespoon of vinegar + full cream milk = 1 cup)
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
METHOD
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or three 8-inch round cake pans.
2. Sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl; set aside. In a small bowl, mix food coloring and cocoa powder to form a thin paste without lumps; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then beat in vanilla and the red cocoa paste, scraping down the bowl with a spatula as you go. Add one third of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beat well, then beat in half of the buttermilk. Beat in another third of flour mixture, then second half of buttermilk. End with the last third of the flour mixture, beat until well combined, making sure to scrape down the bowl with a spatula.
4. Make sure you have cake pans buttered, floured, and nearby. In a small bowl, mix vinegar and baking soda. Yes, it will fizz! Add it to the cake batter and stir well to combine. Working quickly, divide batter evenly between the cake pans and place them in a preheated 350 degree oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check early, cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
5. Cool the cakes in their pans on a wire rack for 10 minutes. To remove the cakes from the pan, place a wire rack on top of the cake pan and invert, then gently lift the pan. Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting. Frost with buttercream or cream cheese icing (recipe below).
Recipe Notes: *Sift cake flour once before measuring, then sift again with the other dry ingredients per recipe instructions. Wear an apron and be careful with the red food coloring–no matter how hard I try, I always end up staining something! As you’re mixing the cake batter, use a spatula to scrape down the bowl frequently throughout the entire process.
My mistake is..aku tak de cukup red colouring.. aku pi tambah dgn sirap rose.. langsung le rasa rose dah overtake rasa cocoa & vanilla.. tp still ok..
